One of the main goals of the International Association for Lichenology is facilitating communication among lichenologists around the world. And this, in turn, promotes research in the many aspects of lichenology and its applications.

About IAL
The International Association for Lichenology (IAL) is a worldwide union of scientists and others interested in theoretical and practical studies of lichens: its composition and structure, history, classification, distribution, ecology, dynamics, management and uses in the landscape.
Join IAL or Renew Membership
Membership to the IAL is open to all individuals having lichenological interests. IAL is the foremost organization to help members network with other lichenologists world-wide.
The nominal dues cover the 4-year period between the IAL symposia.
